Will just have to get some Campagnolo cable clips for the top tube if I can. I believe that I have most parts to make a full rebuild with Campagnolo Record parts quite quickly. I'll have to do a bit more research to see if I can get close to a date. The serial number on the bottom bracket is 38239 and it matches the fork. There are no dings anywhere and the chrome is in quite good condition, only a couple of areas that have flaked off. I feel quite lucky with this one as the frame is a 23" c-c seat tube and 22.5" c-c top tube - which is a comfortable fit for me. Unfortunately the badge has gone missing but I will certainly keep an eye out for another one. The name and Holdsworth was also hand painted on at the time. At the same time, the cable guide tubes were brazed on to the top of the bottom bracket. As you can see the paint has faded, but it used to be quite a nice gloss cream colour. The paint job was in a fairly scratched up condition (originally orange he thinks) so he had it repainted by Bates in Melbourne.
The owner I spoke to bought it second hand in 1979/80 from the original owner who had imported it from the UK. I had been chasing a Holdsworth since my mother died 3 years ago, as her maiden name was Houldsworth and orange was her favourite colour. I've also managed to get in contact with the second owner, whose name is on the frame, and he has given me some of the history. I picked this Holdsworth up in Canberra this week.
