This time around, players will take on the role of one of three protagonists training to become a Keyblade Master by demonstrating they possess the Mark of Mastery. While the mix of the two IPs may seem odd to the uninitiated, the two franchises actually work well together. Birth by Sleep more than lives up to the lofty standards set by previous titles, and it is an excellent action RPG that fans of the genre won’t want to miss.įor anyone new to the series, Kingdom Hearts is essentially a 3-D Final Fantasy title in a Disney wrapper throughout the game, players will come across characters from both the Final Fantasy and Disney universes as well as travel between familiar Disney environments. As a prequel to its predecessors, players will find out about the origins of the Keyblades and the order that wields them. Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep acts as a starting place for the Kingdom Hearts series.
